Peacock feathers have always been used in fly tying, easy to find, its fibers are used wrapped on the hook to give volume, the hair on the fibers is green and when wet it shines giving a unique color. The fibers of the peacock feathers are very beautiful to use even when stripped, when they are wrapped, they create the typical colouration of the cerci, creating an alternating gray and brown line.
Among the most famous dressings in which the peacock is used we find the red tag and the royal couchman, two timeless and always effective flies.
